RIP walter fredrick "fred" morrison

i know this is my first post to this charade known as a blog, and the idea of it being about the death of an american hero might seem morbid, but i feel the need to enlighten everyone about my feelings of the frisbee.

i love the frisbee. i'm not good at it, but hey, i try and sometimes that's all that matters. going back to my college days, i loved the idea of going outside with some duders and tossing the disc around like a couple of playboys. but alas, it also makes me remember the famed ultimate frisbee teams of every liberal arts college. with names like brock, turner, harrison, and prescott, the sport of disc could only inspire such names.

fred, as i've known him since i was a little child with little ambition, will never be forgotten. he ranks up there with the likes of richard knerr and arthur spud melin (creators of the hula hoop), gert f. kolbel (inventor of the koosh ball), and lonnie johnson (inventor of the watergun) as heroes to every child. RIP fred and your legacy will never forgotten, but merely lost in the 3rd aisle of toys "r" us.

a little good cop bad cop may be in order...

well... im still trapped in the snowpocalypse: act 2. and while im trapped in the middle of a blizzard watching a mighty college basketball rivalry game, i thought id do a little introduction. there will be a second voice on the jiggles' puff. this individual has asked for complete anonymity so sorry, i cant tell you or hint at who they are. they will write under the name ...more important than you... a slightly conspicuous sense that they feel superior to myself(i was informed that i was in fact the inspiration for the name).

so who knows when this new perspective will make their debut but it will definitely be an interesting little experiment.

and with that... go duke!!!!!

snow and adolescence are the only problems that disappear if you ignore them long enough*

being trapped in your own home at the hand of mother nature's snowy fury allows some time for reflection.

and well... i got bored and my mind wandered so i just handed over the reigns to george carlin to do it for me.

“the most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. i mean, life is tough. it takes up a lot of your time. what do you get at the end of it? a death! what's that, a bonus!? i think the life cycle is all backwards. you should die first, get it out of the way. then you live in an old age home. you get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work. you work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. you do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. you go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating...

...and you finish off as an orgasm!”

right on george! much better analysis of life than i could have ever done.

when it rains, it pours... in this case, its below freezing.

Issued by The National Weather Service
Baltimore/Washington, MD
3:04 pm EST, Mon., Feb. 8, 2010

not again...

... WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

surprise...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 7 PM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

i miss the winter storm watch...

* PRECIPITATION TYPE... SNOW.

didnt see that coming...

* ACCUMULATIONS... 10 TO 20 INCHES.

it was just 3 to 5 inches yesterday!!!

* TIMING... MID-AFTERNOON TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

oh good... i was getting tired of just having ruined weekends...

* TEMPERATURES... TEMPERATURES NEAR FREEZING AT THE ONSET TUESDAY AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES WILL DROP INTO THE UPPER 20S TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.

it will be cold. check.

* WINDS... LIGHT SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS TUESDAY BECOMING NORTHWESTERLY 15 TO 25 MPH WEDNESDAY.

sideways snow is way better than regular boring snow...

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

they wont help.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. THE COMBINATION OF SNOW AND STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS.

yeah, we are all very very well aware.

well kids... i guess ill see everyone at the food store tonight! save me some wheat bread this time, would ya!?

well... nobody's perfect. including me... sorta.

ok. i was wrong. colts lost. disregard the majority of the previous post.

however, i did predict the right score... which is really much harder to do if you think about it. there are so many combinations! who wins the game is just 50/50. so with that logic, i really won.

by the way, does anyone else think that the head honchos at disney are licking their chops at the prospect of making a feel-good sports movie about the saints??

my prediction on the casting of the main characters:

sean payton
, the main protagonist(coach of the new orleans saints) played by greg kinnear. rationale: he looks like him.

peyton manning will be played by vince vaughn. rationale: "i was first team all-state. i can put the ball anywhere i want to. i'll make it rain out here." - wedding crashers. also little known fact, vince has a small role as a member of the fightin irish football team in the movie rudy.

drew brees will be played by luke wilson. rationale: while he does somewhat resemble drew brees... i also think luke is primed for a comeback (im pretty sure being the at&t spokesman is not a sign of how hot his career is at the moment) and what better than to play a qb who fights back to succeed during his own comeback. its quite poetic really.

artistic license will be used to alter the following:

the score will be a lot closer

last second touchdown for the saints to win

injury to drew brees at the end of the 2nd quarter and the drama that occurs at halftime about whether he can come back in or not...

peyton is a jerk who talks a lot of trash about how the colts are the best team ever and will crush the saints...

not gonna lie, i think i just made a sure-fire blockbuster movie! dinsey, im not that expensive if you want to talk partnership...

a superbowl prediction by someone completely unqualified to make a superbowl prediction...

colts win.

peyton manning is a freak. he could be throwing to a jello mold and still find a way to make a perfect pass. not only peyton, but his supporting cast is a great group of players. addai is a great receiver out of the back field, garcon and wayne are fantastic receivers and dallas clark is money. so many weapons and the saints defense has been plagued by injuries. not a good combination.

dont get me wrong, saints are good. however, lets be honest, they should have lost to minnesota, who basically handed the game to the saints... literally. they fumbled 5 times, and usually saved it for when they were in the red zone. i know i know, good teams find a way to win. i hear you but honestly, the redskins could have beaten the vikings two weeks ago. they played that badly. it had less to do with how "well" the saints played and more about how horrendous the vikings played.

now, i do need to clarify that being a trojan fan, i do love reggie bush (best player money can buy!). however, he just hasnt played consistently all season and two weeks ago, with the intense case of butter fingers he displayed on national television, he definitely seemed to be having some issues. he is the saints' special teams and the saints need him to contribute in a significant way for them to have a chance. i think he will play tight and cautious and thus, will be less effective.

barring some kind of ridiculous meltdown by the colts or a horrific injury to peyton, i think the colts bring some more hardware back to indiana...

colts: 31 - 17.
